"THANK YOU To All Those Who served this country" 4th of July/2008/Geri Ahearn

A LONELY SOLDIER'S LULLABY The illuminated sky became obscured when night had fallen. The lonely soldier hid in darkness in a musty hole of dirt where his frightened voice lingered on. "Free me from this misery, his buddy heard him calling." Every night after gray clouds rolled by, the lonely soldier sang his humble lullaby. But, no one could see the tears in his eyes when the soldier began to cry. Once a happy man was he, just like you, and just like me. A man who had a life before Vietnam wit… Continue

I just posted Today's Interview with our very own "Evie Alexis." It is an Honor, and with Great Pleasure to post this Interview at WRDF. As an Author, I know the hard work it takes to get that book Published. I know the hard work it takes to get Promotions on a Roll. I know "Promotions" is for a Lifetime! By the time an Author actually has the opportunity to be Reviewed, or Interviewed, I cannot express the Moment of Glory. Can you imagine what Results we'd see if we All Support one-another! A Tribute to My Dad...I Miss you! Happy Father's Day! "HER MAJESTY."

HER MAJESTY A prism of lighted color does exist, an unalloyed flush of escapes, exposing the night's mischief. This prism of superstition brings me back to a time long ago when I viewed through a desert dust, the Majesty of a southwest sunrise. The provider of warmth, and brillance of sight and emotion, with its blinding eminence of candor, fetters my memory as it guides me back. Its beauty was a wonderment! I remember, how the sun's rising looked like a gold pocket watch my Dad once had. I wil… Continue

Lol, poor thing! I would never give feather pillows to the boys, because then I'd be the one expected to clean. Yikes! And then again, they're too busy really bashing each other to need a fluffy, girly thing as pillows, know what I mean?

Thank goodness school resumes on Monday. I'm dying for some quiet!

Huge hugs

Z(Aasiyah/Nolwynn)

Btw, threw a sheep at you on Facebook! Lol

Hi Geri,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome. This is really a friendly place to be, and I'm so grateful! I am a cyber-idiot, so am having to learn how to navigate all these sites, etc. and boy, making a trailer or something like that would be completely out of my range. Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad to get to know you. You have a great page! I have been writing since I was in elementary school, and it's always been something I just loved to do. I have written 7 manuscripts, and many many short stories . I've got one historical western manuscript contracted with TWRP, and have another one under consideration there. I also work with an agent on some of my other projects, and have sold my short stories to Adams Media and Chicken Soup among others. But novels are my first love, for sure. I have 2 kids that aren't kids anymore (18 and 21) and have been married nearly 30 years (without killing him!) Again, it's good to meet you and thanks for welcoming me aboard.

Hello Geri. It is so nice of you to reach out ask me to be your friend. I have been writing stories since I was a child. The first were of a girl and her horse (I was horse crazy). Then it turned to dogs with the advent of Lassie. In the sixties it was Beatle stories. All my friends would ask me on our way to school in the morning: "Did you write any more." They couldn't get enough back then. I turned to poetry in my late teens. It wasn't until I was 28 and had a dream one night, that I got back into writing romance fiction again. That dream turned into my first book (which I never published but was told I should). I have six completed manuscripts now, one of which is a trilogy. All of them started from a dream I had one night that I later developed into a story. I don't follow the correct procedure, like outlining the chapters. I just sit down and the words come. It's almost as if I am writing about a past life, which it can't be because most of my romances are set in a different universe! One is liken to a fantasy (I read Tolkien's Lord of the Rings in high school and loved it). Another deals with Ancient Egypt, another of my interests, while only one is set in 1970 England. I am currently working on a non-fiction book because I am an Astrologer, Numerologist and Tarot card reader, all of which make great elements for any story, but my point is to prove these arts are wisdom God left for us to use while we sourjourn here on Earth. The way I see it, knowledge is knowledge. what you do with that knowledge is what makes it good or bad, but I'm getting sidetracked. I'm sure your invitation didn't ask for a history of my life. And so, I will end it here, thanking you once again for reaching out. Pages like my space, Not over the hill, now Writers and Readers of Distinctive Fiction are new to me, even though we are the same age! Hope your work continues to grow.

Have a great weekend.
