Is Romance outdated...the purview of women alone?

I write novels about contemporary real life women. Because I focus on a developing relationship between a man and a woman, my works gets categorized as "romance". No Barbara Cartland or Danielle Steele, today's modern romance novels have kick butt heroines who stand quite nicely on their own two feet, thank you very much. Often, as is so true of today's woman, we are not looking for a "Mr. Right" much less a savior. We are 100% independent actualized beings that know how to run our lives and are… Continue

An Interview with Hot Scottish Actor

We’re trying something a little different today folks. I will be interviewing the male lead from my book “Soul In His Eyes”, Mr. Erik Bartholomew. He has just arrived here in the studio… Wry lift at the corner of his mouth, eyes gaze into mine with a questioning twin… Continue

The Passing Of A Brilliant Man

My brother died yesterday…lung cancer. Four decades and change, is simply not long enough for anyone, let alone one so brilliant. He was one of those people so intelligent as to be a personal burden. Others simply did not “get” much of what he shared freely with them. And he had a roomful of books, CD’s DVD’s and personal writings of the most extraordinary quality containing the broadest of worldviews. He was to (finally) graduate from university this Saturday putting into the mainstream of reco… Continue

Parties and Nightlife Romantic Times Book Lovers Convention April 16-20, 2008 Five full days and nights of the Romantic Times Conference at the Hilton Hotel where the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers merge to form the Ohio trisecting the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has left me with mixed emotions and quiet exhaustion of body.… Continue

Christine Goes U.K.

As I approach my departure date for Pittsburg and the largest fan based conference of the year, I stop to think how fortunate I have been in this career of mine. In the span of less than three years I have gone from my first tentative steps into the publishing world with the release of my novella, Sunninghill Snow at Phaze.com, to multipublished with two books released, two more to come this year and two (for the first time, print) in 2009. My recent trip to Australia is feeding my work in pr… Continue

True romance will never be dead, but perhaps it has become more realistic in today's literature. We seem more apt to tell the sadder side of romance, and every romance has it. To me, that makes for a better, more true to life story. What ya think. Great site, Christine!

Great site you have---While pure romance novels are not really my thing--I do try to incorporate some romance in my novels --maybe because in my advanced age ---I am a hopeless romantic

Alaska is great! It's almost 10 p.m. and you'd think it was about 5pm anywhere else. But you're right, in a few months the snow will be back and sunrise will be around 11am and sunset 3pm.

I also do my own covers and l enjoy metaphors that really give an idea of what I am writing. I will have to a few trailers for my new book and I have gotten better at that now, since I have learned the software better. I actually did 8 trailers for. Nimrod Rising. Your covers are very intriging, which gets this writer's attention.

I live in a small, very Asian suburb caled Rowland Heights, which is 25 miles TOO CLOSE to LA. :>) Have a lovely day.

Hi, Not sure what you meant by subibg? Anyway, I had an author friend who ask her editor to look at my work. They reqested a synopsis and query...and the first few chapters. I sent it and they told me that when I had finished editing it, they wanted to look at it for consideration. You mentioned an agent. Any other hints to help me? And please excuse my ignorance about the slang, but what doe subbibg mean? LOL
