A very candid interview with T.J. Killian

Yesterday, a dear writing friend of mine finally pushed me into doing and interview. This is how it went. By the way, thanks for cutting this down to a reasonable size, Mike - lol. ************************************************************** This past weekend I was afforded the opportunity to sit down with a great author who isn’t afraid to push the lines of writing, or speak her mind, T.J. Killian. From her first mid-length novel, Northern Skye, through the continuing saga of the Stygia… Continue

From my Mailbag - T.J. what is the difference between a 3rd person passive and active voice

This came in an e-mail to me. To summise the e-mail - this writer asked me for clarification between active and passive voice. *************************************************************************************************************** Dear Confuzzled, To answer your question - yes - there is a distinct difference between a third person past voice and a third person present voice. Third Person Past - this is a classic voice. The best known writer I can think of who writes romance in this… Continue

T.J., can I get a little clarification - what is the Omniscient Voice?

This actually came from several blog posts and a few e-mails. It isn't easy to answer what the omniscient voice is, because it is many things and comes in many forms. Back in the day when I was taught how to write, you had two voices, the First Person and the Omniscient. Though, many an author in those days said, even if you were writing in the First Person, you were in essence writing in the Omniscient Voice. I understand the debate because at that time, even First Person had some telling in… Continue

A Proud Mommy Moment

When your kids get older - and they stop needing you so much unless it is for gas money or the what-nots of teenage life - the Proud Mommy Moments come less and less. It is to be expected. They are now a bit more independent, with their own minds and hopefully good common sense.… Continue

Hi, T.J, good to meet up. I'm just exercising my fingers before I start writing a new novel, so will be busy, but will ensure that I keep up with the group's activity.
Cheers,
Brian
