Romance, Life, Adventure...The Way You Dream It

Miss Mae

The Sayings of the Sixties...

How many of us can remember some of the familiar sayings of "way back when"? Let me give you one and see if you can recall it. The person who answers correctly then starts another one. This is a good memory exercise!...LOL..

From a popular television commercial jingle...

"You'll wonder where the yellow went when....."

What's the rest of that catchy tune????

Well... First thing he said was, "Close Your Eyes." I truly tried to "Act Naturally," but really "I Should Have Known Better."

When I said, "Tell Me Why!" He said, it's your "Birthday!"

"But All You Need is Love," I said, excited.

"It's Only Love," he assured me.

To that I had "No Reply."

He murmured a few more "Words of Love." All I can say is "This Boy" is the best. I'm happy with just the "Two of Us."

"The End"

Ken, you did like so many of us did almost let our life pass without accomplishing our dream, but it's never too late. I have a friend who is turning 83 and she's still writing.

Aaargh! I was thinking Nick Adams!! Why didn't I say so?...LOL..

Looks like there's not much response, so I'll fill in the blanks.

Nick Adams was Johnny Yuma the Rebel. Adams died young, in his 30's, under suspicious circumstances. Some thought it was drugs, some thought he was murdered, some thought it was suicide.

The lyrics in the song go,

He was panther quick and leather tough
And he figured that he'd been pushed enough.

He also starred in a movie called "No Time For Sergeants" with Andy Griffith, who went on to become one of the most famous and beloved television and movie stars of all time. By they way, Don Knotts was also in that movie.

Andy recorded a comedy song, actually a recitation, called “What It Was, Was Football” in the early 50’s which got him a lot of attention and led to him getting some movie offers, which led to one of the most illustrious careers ever.

Whew, I think I will have another big orange.

I've seen No Time for Sergeants, but didn't realize Nick played in that. We didn't watch the show too often, so that's why I couldn't remember the words...(perfectly legitimate excuse, ya know...)
