Hi there,
I recently asked on Amazon, for reviews of my book, Ronin, the first in the Col Sec series featuring Kurt Stryder. The single review I received was, to say the least, unfavourable. I got the impression that the reviewer set out to dislike the book from the start and was actually offended that I should ask.
Having said all that, there were a few points he raised which I saw fir to address. These points were in fact quite salient but the way he made them gave me cause for concern, that's behind me now. I realised from the start that critics in any art form are biased people, they think their opinion is the only one that matters and they are never wrong. I'm secure in the knowledge that you can never please all the people all the time and even the best authors sometimes get awful reviews.
This is turning into a rant against critics and that wasn't what I set out to do, honest. My point is that I took on board the few comments made that were actually helpful and addressed them.
I've now completed the re-edit of the book and the artist I've been working with, has come up with an alternative choice for the cover. Here's a link to my website where you can check out both choices http://jandomagala.wordpress.com/
If you have any feedback at all please don't hesitate to get in touch either here; my website, or Google+
Quite soon I'll be posting samples of the book so you can check that out too.
Regards,
Jan.
