Two books have been released this year, each focusing on the esoteric underpinnings of the foundation of the Unites States of America and the symbolism related to these underpinnings that are scattered all over Washington D.C. and most notably in the U.S. Capitol building itself. The books are Dan Brown's novel, The Lost Symbol, and William Henry's non-fiction work,Freedom's Gate: The Lost Symbols in the U.S. Capitol. Both of these authors focus heavily on a painting called The Apotheosis that adorns the top of the interior of the Capitol's great dome.

In this paper we are going to apply what I call CryptoNumerology (basically a system of gematria based on the English alphabet www.secretofnine.com) to the concepts inherent in the notion of the apotheosis as it pertains to the Capitol Dome.

CryptoNumerology, a form of English-based gematria, uses the simple serial code of A=1 through Z=26. A working hypothesis underlying this divination system is that the number 9 is a key element in the nature of our reality, may in some manner be connected to the phenomenon of synchronicity, and is intrinsically woven into the holographic fabric of the interdimensional Mulitverse.

Painted by Brumidi in 1865, the extraordinary artwork called The Apotheosis is located in the eye of the Rotunda, the top of the great dome of the U.S. Capitol. The word "apotheosis" refers to a kind of ascension process, the elevation of a person to the status of a god. The painting covers an area of 4,664 square feet. It is 180 feet above the floor.

4664 = 18 = 9

180 = 9

Some interesting facts: 180 feet is equal to 55 meters. HEAVEN=55. The exterior dome ascends to 288 feet including the height of the Statue of Freedom which sits atop the dome. 288 feet is equal to 88 meters. GATE+HEAVEN = 88. (More on 88, below) The number 288 is called by some the "double light" number because it is 2 x 144 and the number 144 is esoterically associated with the concept of "Light". Is it mere "coincidence" that these numbers correspond to words and phrases that, in turn, correspond to the whole idea of apotheosis?

There are 72 stars in the ring surrounding the painting.
There are 5 concentric rings surrounding the ring of 72 stars. Each of those five rings contains 36 squares. Each of those squares contains 8 small "dots" in a hexagonal pattern.

HEXAGON = 74 = JESUS
HEXAGRAM = 77 = CHRIST

36 x 5 = 180, the same as the height (in feet) of the painting from the floor of the Rotunda.

Is it possible that the 5 concentric rings may represent the orbits of the planets with the sun at the center as envisioned by Copernicus? At the time of Copernicus there were only 5 planets known to exist. Below is a photo of the interior of the U.S. Capitol dome (upper image) and the Roman Pantheon (lower image) with the Copernicus planetary system superimposed upon it. This idea of the Copernicus connection was proposed by Hollywood film editor, Walter Murch (http://bldgblog.blogspot.com/2007/04/heliocentric-pantheon-intervie...).

There are 36 windows encompassing the entire dome of the U.S. Capitol. Using CryptoNumerology we find the English gematria value of the word "window" (88) corresponds to quite a list of other words and phrases with the same value, each of which can be seen to have a relationship to the concepts implied by the apotheosis along with elements related to Christianity:

Dan Brown, in his novel, The Lost Symbol, uses the term "portal", part of the Ancient Mysteries, known only to an initiated few and protected over the ages by the Free Masons. CryptoNumerology reveals the word "gate". As previously mentioned, the word "apotheosis" refers to a kind of ascension process, the elevation of a person to the status of a god. Some of it I have acquired, having read The Finger Prints of God by Graham Hancock, The Orion Mystery by Bauval and Gilbert, The Mayan Prophecies by Gilbert and Gotterell, Star signs by Linda Goodman ( she does a great job on dissecting the number 9). There are too many to list here. I study Astrology as well as the Tarot and Numerology. Numbers mean a lot more than people realize but one day we all will . . again. 37. In Einstein's formula we see E=M(C^2). That's Mass (M) multiplied by the
Speed Of Light squared (C^2). Is it just coincidence that if we replace the M and
C with their reduced numerological equivalents, respectively 4 (M) and 3 (C), and
perform the mathematical function we get 36, which also reduces to 9? Or, here's
something interesting: If we alter that equation to read E=MC^2, we get E=144,
which reduces to 9 and we recall 144carries an esoteric gematria connection to
"light". Synchronistically, the English alphanumeric value of the phrase SPEED
OF LIGHT is 126 which also reduces to 9. And further, the alphanumeric value of
ONE TWO SIX just happens to be 144.

The reduction of all numbers (except for the Master Numbers) to a single digit is a practice that is common to standard numerology. The system I'm working with is more akin to the ancient practice of gematria in which the numbers are not typically reduced. The larger numbers have their own symbolic meanings and are often reflective of various proportions and angles in geometry. The so-called "Canon of Sacred Numbers" includes numbers such as 72, 144, 153, 234, 432, 666, and so on. It is a curious fact, however, that most (if not all) of the "Sacred Numbers" do reduce to the single digit value of 9.

Interesting but I'd like to know why numbers like 144 and 288 are not reduced to a single digit. Only Master Numbers stay as they are, i.e:11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99. Those who possess them have the opportunity to attain the highest level of the number if they so desire. God, Jehovah, whatever you want to call him set in motions these numbers fir a reason. They are the number of life and much wisdom can be gained. We discover here on earth what God already set in place. 144 and 288 reduce to the number 9 and has everything to do with life here on this planet. It is physical.
