WRITERS and READERS of DISTINCTIVE FICTION(WRDF)

An Idea! Yes, I do get those every now and then.

Seems like we as authors and readers can find very little time for anything other than writing, reading and promoting.

Well, I've been that way since the new year.

But then I started to think, maybe we could send a quick reply on this blog post to update the members here on what we've been up to lately. Whether itk's writing or whatever, let me know.  Did your dog just have puppies (Grin - everyone loves puppies) or did you welcome a new addition to your family?

Did you break through to a new level in your writing and you want to share that exciting news?

And please, no negative comments. We're here to support and celebrate not bicker or complain. The light is always brighter when we seek the joy in our souls and our lives. So please, tell me what you've been up to.

Oh, me, you say? Well, I've been writing.  Alot.  For a while I was promoting, and quite frankly, I reached to a point where I had to say stop, I'm a writer, I create and this is what I do.  So far this last week, I've managed to put together a total of 6k words.

Come on, friends, shout out here and let us celebrate even if it's small.  Heck, did you save some money at the store or even bought a new dress or that pair of shoes you've been eyeing for a while.

Major and tight Hugs!!

J

Still hanging in there! Looking for a new home for one novel after the publisher went belly up. I have another I am pitching to agents, and a third that I started long ago that I am trying to finish.

And I am trying to reconnect with my writing friends, so I was glad to see your post.

Oh yeah! I will be returning to southern Illinois in August for my eighth grade class reunion!

Hi Judith,

I've been writing and blogging all summer.  Actually, most of my time has been spent with my hubby.  He's 75 and believes his time is getting short, so we've been having fun.

I haven't been able to respond to anyone's messages, so I've just been deleting them.

Oh, I hear you about summer time activities.  The longer days literally call to me.  I want to be outside more and enjoy all the sunlight I can.  Now the heat, I could do without.  So glad to hear that you're busy writing and editing.  To me that's the worse aspect of being a writer.  Having to work through the edits.  But it also is a learning tool.  The editor may point out places where I can build and strengthen my work.

Thank you so much, Jennifer, for stopping by and filling us in on what's up in your life!!

Hugs love!

Judith

I've been working through edits for my book, Abuse Me No More and it looks like we're almost there. It's coming out with Decadent Publishing. It has a romantic theme. I'm also writing another love story. Keeping busy. I do spend a lot of time promoting what I already have published.

With summer here, we have a lot of cookouts with family and that too keeps me on the go.

Oh, cool, Mike! Every little bit of knowledge we can gleem is a plus.  Please do keep us posted. I'd love to hear your take on how this benefits getting your books out in the public eye.

I know what you mean about promoting. It got so tedious that I decided I was going to do something about it -- professionally. So in September I enrol at University to take a four year course in Creative Film and Moving Image. That's a posh way of saying that I'm going to study the TV and movie industry.

You know what they say -- if you can't beat them, join them. Once I'm armed with all the technology and communicative skills I'll get back to promoting -- in the real sense of the word.

I'll keep everyone posted if I think there is anything worth sharing. So that's what I'm up to lol.
