There was a story in the news the other day. A Korean scientist and his team have been doing some genetic tampering which produced a litter of glow in the dark beagle puppies. Four out of six survived. All are named Ruppy, ruby plus puppy, because under ultraviolent light they glow red.
This was accomplished by injecting fluorescent genes into embryos and implanting them into a surrogate mother, a local mutt. They say it’s significant that…

There’ve been some studies done recently. I’m sure very costly studies at that.
One concluded that fish get seasick. This was determined by sticking an aquarium full of goldfish onto a plane and then sending the plane into a steep nosedive, essentially dropping them out of the sky to simulate weightlessness. Hmm, nope, I don’t think their findings are quite correct. Consider this. People are said to be seasick when floating around the sea…

We entered her office--my friend Jane and I.
Lynn-the-psychic looked up, “Ahh-hh,” her eyes focused on a point above my head.
Puzzled I extended my hand.
She shook it. “Ana,” she breathed. My friend’s name is Jane…she had the name right... 50-50 odds
“Come in,” she motioned. “You must have been wondering why I looked like that. I was in awe. You have 7 angels and a golden arch.”
I thought maybe the arch was like a park bench for the angels. Or were the angels eating at…

If things get busier I'll pop a circuit... I swear.
I thought agents helped quell all the agonies one suffers as a writer.
Learning: they add to the pain! Ouch!
Publishers and Agents... you gotta love 'em, right? Right?
The answer (I'm sure) is out there...

Once every spring those few and fortunate who love romance fiction and can slip away from their everday lives gather, network, promote, learn and celebrate what is the most life affirming of literary genres. This April the RT Booklovers Convention was held on lushly landscaped forty six acres of Orlando, Florida known as The Wyndham Resort.…

It’s been 90 freakin’ degrees for days now. In April. We should still be having snow storms in April, not having heatwaves. Okay so perhaps that’s a bit of an exaggeration but this really is just plain wrong.
I suppose there is one good thing I can think of. Should I happen to be bitten by a vampire any time soon they won’t have to worry about having a headache for months, that’s how much preventative Excedrin I’m eating. Hmm, do vampires get…

Hello Friends!
This week’s essay is posted:
Excellence or Perfection? Writers Need To Know.
Here's an excerpt:
************************************************************************
"Striving for excellence motivates you; striving for perfection is demoralizing." --Harriet Braiker
The first time I truly considered the difference between excellence and perfection, my world view tilted on…

Out of respect for my friends who have the misfortune of being Flyers fans, I’ve been very quiet and well-behaved on the subject of hockey. But now, my Penguins have once again eliminated your paltry Flyers from the playoffs, and I have to say it. Cheer for the proper team and your season wouldn’t be over quite yet.
Yes, I know. Paybacks are a bitch and I fully expect to hear from each and every one of you when the tables are turned, whenever…

I received a full page special feature in a local newspaper this week. Follow this link for the first article. There were actually two, but this one dealt with the novel, The Cry of the Cuckoos.

I’m lost in la la Land
Sighing away minutes
Just thinking about him
That unique
Charming
Utterly mesmerizing man
I have a penchant for
Alpha male personified
Behind his uplifting smile and intense eyes
Lies a highly evolved analytical mind
A truly compassionate heart
And a soul awakened lifetimes before
An enlightened one
He radiates luminescent light
He humbles me
Inspires me to reach higher
To become…
