4 1/2 Heart Review from The Romance Studio for Girl of My Dreams by Morgan Mandel

I'm happy to say my romantic comedy, Girl of My Dreams by Morgan Mandel, just received a 4 1/2 Heart Review from Brenda Talley of The Romance Studio.Com

She says, "The plot offered by Ms. Morgan Mandel is fresh, exciting and one that will definitely keep readers' attention. These characters were bold and diverse. The author has used her sense of humor, as well as her sense of adventure, to present the storyline. .I thoroughly enjoyed reading this Cinderella Story."

What has happened to Common Courtesy and Manners?

Okay, I'm venting because I just had to.

When you stop and take the time to hold open a door for someone, you're taking the time to be courteous and polite, right? Do you say anything when they don't acknowledge you or say thank you back? I've gotten into the habit that when I'm ignored now, I tell the rude person in a very loud voice, "You're Welcome!" And every time, they turn and look at me like I've grown another frigen head. I find this more so in the younger generation, but… Continue

Dream-Wranglers

"He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it." –Douglas Adams from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Writers are an odd breed. We spend our lives immersed in a dream world, a universe where we call the shots. Real life can seem like a pesky intrusion, and often, as the writing fervor grips us, we may lose track of exactly who is writing whom.

"Dreams are . . . illustrations from… Continue

Hmm... What can I do in here?

(That's the cover art for the tale I'm working on now. Cross your fingers for me.)

Well, since this site is brand spanking new and I feel just as lost as everyone else, I guess I'll poke around and change my profile a hundred times until I get it right. In a way, that's sometimes how I write. It begins with an idea, usually a muse with a chatty tendency, and I put a few sentences down...a few paragraphs...a few pages. Sometimes it… Continue

A HONEYMOON TO REMEMBER

Anita shrugged off the impotence she feels walking away from her alma mater. Sacrifices are necessary to attain one's dreams but marriage was so irrevocable. Walking down the road that sultry afternoon, she reviewed the sudden changes that had happened in her life. Her granny giving the ultimatum, 'If you want your fees to be paid sometime in the future for that unnecessary PhD you'll shut up and get married in the 28 days.' Anita recalled her mothers… Continue

Disney's Enchanted - my impressions

Enchanted may have come out in November 2007 worldwide but it released only this Valentine's Day (2008) in my hometown. I really liked it. It was all my favorite fairy tales, some of my favorite Disney moments, and some gorgeous actors shaken up with a modern twist. The song sequences reminded me of Bollywood/Hindi movies and were really catchy. This is one DVD I'm picking up ASAP.

I enjoyed the movie despite going alone. An unexpected visitor… Continue

Is it good or bad?

Here's a list of my today's good or bad.

1. Is it good or bad that I'm still really confused over this ning site LOL

2. Is it good or bad that we're about to be snowed in by yet another blizzard.

3. Is it good or bad that Amazon.com only has one of my books left for sale and it only came out last week? (either they had too few copies or I have lots of fans )

Heh from my perspective I don't worry so much about the first two But I'd really love to know… Continue

Nice to meet everyone.

I guess it's about time I introduced myself. My name is Suzanne, but everyone calls me Suzie or Suji-Chan as I am very much into the whole Japanese culture and trying to learn the language. I am a mother of two teen-aged daughters. I raised them on my own, having left their abusive father when I was 6 months pregnant for my youngest, who will be 16 this summer. My oldest will be 18 in three weeks.

I've been writing since I was a teenager. When I was 13 my mother found me sitting at… Continue

Believe in Yourself

"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Years ago, when I first came upon this quote, the revelation was like a sunbeam piercing through a cloud-covered sky. Having spent my youth in hot pursuit of outside validation, the idea that I was actually "consenting" to feel inferior astonished me. And liberated me. Why would I consent to such a belief? Why should I? Hah!

We Can Be Anything We Want To Be.

"It's not… Continue
