I write action/adventure stories that people who read Clive Cussler, James Rollins, or people who watch the Indiana Jones movies would like to read. in fact, Clive Cussler called my new book, The Samson Effect, a "first rate thriller brimming with intrigue and adventure." Picture of The Methuselah Tree and Bonus Excerpt

Hi all,

I created a new page on my website that I hope you get a chance to look at. It’s on the tab entitled Fact Vs Fiction. On it, you can read more about the 2000 year old seeds that Dr. Sallon in Israel was able to grow. You can also see a photo that she sent to me of her holding the tree.

I also included a bonus excerpt of The Samson Effect that’s only available as a link on that page. The Samson Effect deals at the center of its st… Continue

Fact and Fiction Collide: 2000 Year Old Seed Germinates

When I wrote The Samson Effect, I did a lot of research on the viability of dormant seeds. At that time, Lotus seeds found in a dry river bed in Manchuria which dated to be about 1300 hundred years old were found, and successfully grown. This was one of the pieces of research I included in The Samson Effect as the main characters searched for seeds that were supposedly 3000 years old. In fact, those of you who read The Samson Effect may remember the ver… Continue

The Great Equalizer Is Now Posted

Hey all,

This is the last posting of the week I wanted to share with you, especially if you are a reader or writer of books. I comment on what I call The Great Equalizer that affects everyone who loves books. Some may argue that it's a good thing, others argue it's a bad thing. As for me, I think it's great.

The good people of FreshFiction.com asked me to be a guest blogger on their site and have supported my… Continue

Hi Tony,

Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Tipping Point Workshops (TTP WORKSHOP TAB),
The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

We haven’t forgotten our readers. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and blog to increase your chances of splitting a boatload of books in December. Get involved, it’s sure to enhance your time with us.

Wow! There is so much going on. But wait, I'm not done yet. We have a brand new feature which will become a huge theater for our authors and a lot of fun for our readers. The new book club, LOST...In a Good Book! Check the link on the main page.

Nothing is happening on that level, but I am featured on Muse Reviews this month, have a review coming out in Renaisance Magazine and a committment from the Celtic Myth Pod Show to have an excerpt read by this famous Celtic Bard. I am really looking forward to that. I am not self-published, but do not have any bricks and motar support either. Meanwhile, I keep chugging away on number 2. But I just shot 88 yesterday, first round under 90. Life is good!
