Profile Information

Are you a writer, reader, or other industry professional
I am a reader--when I have the time, a writer and an editor.
If a writer, are you published, pre-pubbed, or self-published?
I am a three time published author with two different publishers. Recently, I was signed with The Cliffhanger Literary Agency. I'm quite blessed.
As a writer, what type of stories do you Write or Read?
I've done all types. I have a published book of poetry, two self-help books and am currently working on the third book of a mystery trilogy. I have one children' book and two dramas also written.
I love to read mystery, drama, detective novels (ode to my buddy PJ), contemporary poetry and self-help.
As a reader, what is your favorite genre, writer?
As a reader, mysteries, true stories, some romance--has to have a good plot, poetry and drama.

As a writer, I think mysteries and thrillers--not gorey--are my favorites to write now. Dramas are good, but poetry will always be my first love since that's how I caught the writing bug.
If you're an industry professional, tell us a little about your area of interest.
With my editing, I prefer to edit anything, but bloody, horror books. I also don't like to do Fantasy, Sci-Fi because I don't really know anything about the genre. I've tried to read Fantasy before, but I don't enjoy it nearly as much as the other genres. I've edited just about every genre though.
How did you come to know about WRDF?
Mr. PJ Lawton introduced me to it and I'm very excited over what my association with WRDF will bring for me and my career as a writer/editor. I'm also excited about conversing with other writers because no one understands a writer better than another writer. Now that's repetitive!
What is your first impression of our site?
Dislike is the wrong word. This is a wonderful wealth of information, but I never have enough time to come in and just browse for an hour or two, which I'd love to do. It's very busy and I find it difficult to fit it into my life with all the work I do. However, with that being said, I do appreciate it more than words can say.
Do you have a website you'd like to post?

My First Book - "My Soul Has Spoken"

This book is a book of contemporary, heartfelt and emotion-filled poetry. It spans the emotional terrain of almost everyone. If you're looking for help to express yourself to someone or if someone you know needs inspirational words or if you just like to read poetry, this is a great book. I promise, you won't be disappointed. It can be purchased through www.publishamerica.com at their online bookstore or www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnobel.com. Enjoy and happy reading.

My Second Book - "Where do I Begin?"

This book was written for anyone struggling their own self-acceptance. Whether it's a weight issue, like mine, or a drug issue or anything else that keeps you from realizing you are a wonderful person, this book is for you. The only thing that matters is how you are toward youself and others. What people see with their eyes isn't the only way to see another. Unfortunately, many haven't learned that yet. If we all realize it, this world will be a much better place. Learn to love yourself...I did. You can purchase this one at the same places as above.

My Third Book - "Husbandry 101"

This book is exactly what it says, It's for husbands or those considering marriage or even a man in a relationship who wants to be a better male to her female. It's about trust, friendship, fidelity, children, passion, romance and most of all love and respect for her and you. Your partner can benefit as well. Relationships of any and every kind are a two way street and need a foundation of friendship and respect. This book holds the secrets of how to make your wife happy. It even has two tests, with the answers in back...no peeking, to help you make the right choices so you live a happy, healthy, lifelong relationship together. Good luck and happy reading. You can purchase this book at www.seaburnpublishinggroup.com or www.amazon.com.

Writers Beware

Dear Friends,

Just wanted to pop in and give a piece of advice that is probably well known already, but as a friend of mine always tells me, never assume someone knows something, tell them. So here goes...

If you are talking to an agent and they ask for money to read your work or for anything else, run, don't walk in the opposite direction. NO agent, worth anything will ask for money. They should only expect between a 10 and 15% cut from what your book makes. Nothing more, nothing less.… Continue

Okay, just for you. The team makes it back in time to save Riley and Nathan from the Cro-Magnon. They then decide to journey home (or to the Americas) even though they will be far before the time man first appeared in the Americas. But there's a lot in between.

HI Terri,

I'd love to send you a copy of 'Legacy of the Ripper' and will love to hear your review of it. The movie company have already signed it for production after they complete 'A Study in Red'. Hardly believable is it?

I'm so pleased you health is improving. You must take good care of yourself.

Please look out in your inbox for the PDF of 'Legacy' It should be with you very soon. Am about to go down for dinner now, so will wish you a good evening (7 p.m. over here).

Very best regards

Brian

I have an idea. Go to www.theromancestudio.com and scroll down until you see my picture. I am one of the featured authors this month and as part of that, am giving away a copy of Riley's to a lucky winner. I hate to give the plot away, so much more fun for you to read the book. If not that, maybe we can work something else out. Patsy

Hi Terri,

Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you've had to undergo two lots of surgery, but glad to know your healing. Hope it was nothing too serious. It's also good to hear about your potential deal for the movies, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

As for me, the sequel to A Study in Red , called 'Legacy of the Ripper' was released a month ago and is doing great. the screenplay for the movie of A Study in Red is now being written and I'm also now the Mystery/Thriller Consultant Editor for Mythica Publishing and my rescue dog population at home has grown to 9.

My vampire thriller 'Kiss of Life' will be released soon as will my next major novel 'Glastonbury' which completed it's editing phase last week. So there in a nutshell is what's been happening to me.

It's so good to hear from you and I hope you'll be around a lot more now that you're back.

Once again, my best wishes for your speedy recovery and good luck again with the potential deals for your work.

Best regards

Brian

Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).
Bingo Mania (Main Page)
Editor Chats (WRDF Calendar)
Trendsetter Blogs (Advertising page – sub-menu of Main/Map Tab)

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.
We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009.
