Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.
WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.
We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.
I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.
The Tipping Point Workshops (TTP WORKSHOP TAB),
The Contest announcement page (CONTEST TAB)
The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).
Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.
We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.
Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com
Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

FYI- that sword is a retouched image of a real sword found in Britain in a grave just east of Yorkshire, probably 2nd century BC.
It is an amazing piece. Take Care
Actually, Sandy, I answer to Teel or hey big guy or many other things only printable for a more adult site:). I'm sure my life reads better than it really was to live but I'm pretty happy with where its gotten so far. I wanted to write from grade school and let is sit on the backburner til '05 so its nice to get back to a'first love.' though I'll keep doing all the other as long as all my parts work-lol- well enough to get the job done!
We actually used to use an australian stock saddle and an English hunting so we didn't have to deal with the saddle horn when we went 'off' after the lance hit. I love to ride--in fact I'm doing a short film next week that's a western (too tall is the title and my character's name) though I only have 'ride into town' at the begining.
And yes--Us Celts have to--Kilts away!!!!

Yes 'Hywela' is Welsh, although for some reason I've always been called Lyn, so I just combined the name for my pen-name.
It's interesting that you used to joust. I love watching jousting demonstrations. They usually use a Western saddle as the basis for a mediaeval saddle which is quite logical when you realise that the Western stock saddle was developed from the Spanish military saddle.
I love Western riding. Apart from the saddle being so comfortable (for the horse as well, since the weight is spread over a much greater area than the little English saddle, it's so relaxed and kind - quite different from some of the riding one sees on the screen in Westerns. Don't get me wrong, I love Westerns and many of the stars are great riders, but some of the 'extras' leave a lot to be desired.
Oh, I see your name is Celtic too - I did wonder. We Celts have to stick together! :)
