Erma Odrach's interview is just one of many insightful interviews that can be found inside Literature & Fiction Interviews Volumes I & II.

The Power of Persuasion

The Power of Persuasion

The Power of Persuasion

Print: $15.85

Beth Durban is persuaded to write a letter to the editor's page of a national Sunday newspaper in response to a film critics prejudice against adaptations of Jane Austens novels. When she receives an unexpected visit from the newspaper's critic, F. William D'Arcy, she is bemused but, after several sightings of the inquisitive journalist, shes neither pleased nor amused. Beth is so distracted by the unwelcome interest from such an arrogant man she fails to see that a close work colleague is falling in love with her. As a scientific researcher in a Scottish University, she has led a varied life travelling the world, spending time in New Zealand, Canada, Australia, America, Singapore and Israel. With such a full life, she has had little time to form any serious, romantic attachments that might lead to a permanent relationship. When she decides to take driving lessons, Beth opens up new opportunities for herself and realises that perhaps she isnt too old to find love after all.

Thanks for the tips, Shelagh. I'm with published authors but have never been keen on the idea of a fan page. It rings of ego and the thought that people are going to be your fans lol. It may just be a psychological thing with me. In the meantime, my aim for contacting folk here was to be able to try and get things moving at WRDF. There are so many members and so few interacting. That's not what a network is supposed to be doing. There is a lot of talent on this site. What a shame knowledge can't be shared and help given where it's asked.

Many thanks for the link up. I’m looking at ways where we can help each other promote our material and ourselves. I suppose it begins with good communication. Did you have anything in mind in addition to this? I'm not that experienced in writing but I have a wealth of knowledge about people. This is the cover to my co-written book. I'd be happy to post yours on my page. All you have to do is ask :-)

I'm in the throes of helping to breathe a bit of extra life into WRDF. Can we be friends? If so, please add me.

Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

How is the anthology going? I am sorry I haven't had time to stop by much. Anything new?

Just wanted to stop in and say hi and also let you know that my "Back to School" sales promotions for authors and publishers are ending soon.

If interested in cover design or book illustration at less than publisher's normally discounted pricing and want to reserve your spot in the short amount of time left in 2008 (and my calendar is filling fast) visit my site or call me:
