I can’t believe it’s November already. Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage each member to take a little time day to visit a couple new pages each week. The book covers, blurbs, excerpts, bios, photos, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features, The Tipping Point Workshops, our contest announcement page, our bookmark giveaway page, and our free reads page. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I hope you’re enjoying your experience her at WRDF. We encourage all our members to take full advantage of all aspects of the community. Please feel free to post your blogs and leave comments for other bloggers as well. Check out WRDF’S official blog, Between the Lines, and subscribe to our newsletter coming out next month. You can also submit material for our newsletter. Just send your inquiry to cover2cover@lyndacoker.com . You can donate a book for our Boatload Book Giveaway for December, and the opportunities don’t stop there.

Check the main page often to keep up with the changes happening within our community. Be sure to invite your friends. We are growing each day, and we want to stay in touch.

Thank you so much for spending some of your valuable time with us here at WRDF. We appreciate your membership and participation.

I haven't been active on the site much lately, but I do want to spend a minute to post this:
Linnea Sinclair, RITA and 2007 PEARL Award Winning author published by Bantam Books, will be at the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library, 43 West Third, Mansfield, on August 30th from 2pm to 5pm. She will give a workshop titled Characterization: Making Strengths and Weaknesses Work For You (or No More Mary Sues!). Down with one-dimensional cartoon-like characters. Down with the two-dimensional ones while we’re at it. Embrace your characters—warts and all—in this lively workshop. Linnea will show how she uses police and investigation suspect information sheets to help craft interesting, memorable characters that readers and reviewers will love. She’ll help writers dialogue with their characters to bring out information that builds depth and uniqueness, and discuss the pros and cons of using archetypes, astrology, and tarot to build story people.
There’s no fee for the workshop, but a collection will be taken up to help defray her travel and copy expense. She’s a former news reporter and retired private detective who “yearned for more adventure than 'Hold the presses!' and stacks of case files can provide. The role of starship captain was my dream long before James T ever uttered Beam me up! Writing stories is my way of living that dream.” She lives in southwest Florida with her very patient husband and two spoiled cats. Her thoroughly entertaining website is www.linneasinclair.com
All writers are invited to attend this interesting workshop sponsored by the Mid-Ohio Writers Association. No registration is required. Call Sandy at 419-631-7592 for more information about the workshop or Mid-Ohio Writers Association.
