Thank you for teaching me about what makes a writer. Me personally I started in much the same way. I was inspired by the Nordic culture because I was adopted into it. In later years I was given the hint to research my own culture... and as you put it, came home. I don't necessarily have characters in my head, but am more driven to inspire others to learn about their culture.
