Are you a writer, reader, or other industry professional

As a writer, what type of stories do you Write or Read?
I write Children's books, YA contemporary and historical mysteries and Adult Historical Romances set in the early west. (Adult: The Homesteader, The Homesteader's Legacy, Back to the Homestead, Blue Coat, YA: Kat's Cradle, Goodbye Is Forever, Abducted! and Sierra Summer. Children's books: The Christmas Angel, One Family's Christmas, Andy and the Albino Horse, Andy and Spirit Go to the Fair, Andy and Spirit in the Big Rescue, Andy and Spirit in Search and Rescue, with many more to come in this series).
I read a lot of older books for research especially factual biographies of people who really lived the history. I love reading Debbie Macomber and Linda Lael Miller other romances that aren't too erotic. Especially like historical novels and Phyllis A. Whitney is my inspiration although I understand she just passed away at age 104. We should all live so long! It takes so many years to finally start getting anywhere with writing we need those extra years just to get our work out there!
I can’t believe it’s November already. Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.
WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.
We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage each member to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The book covers, blurbs, excerpts, bios, photos, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.
I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features, The Tipping Point Workshops, our contest announcement page, our bookmark giveaway page, and our free reads page. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.
Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.
We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.
Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda
