Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Tipping Point Workshops (TTP WORKSHOP TAB),
The Contest announcement page (CONTEST TAB)
The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

Wow! There is so much going on. But wait, I'm not done yet. We have a brand new feature which will become a huge theater for our authors and a lot of fun for our readers. The new book club, LOST...In a Good Book!

Thank you for taking time to review my latest book, The Banshee House. I will take your input and consider your thoughts for my next book. Your's is my first review of this type as all my other reviews have been local press, which have always been very good, but then they may be biased. I am however, very pleased, as a self-publisher, that my last two books, The Banshee House & The Onion Express, have been very, very successful in the western states (Calif., Nev., mostly) and that I have been picked up Borders stores all over the West Caost, and am doing book signings for them. In fact, I'm booked out for every weekend from now through mid July and two more in August. My readers are mostly middle aged women and also, as you said seniors...but mostly middle aged women. Thanks again and I wish you well on your first book...the first one is the toughest!

D'you know I haven't read 'Idylls of the King' - that's an ommission I'm going to have to rectify. Of course, as everyone knows, Arthur was Welsh (Unfortunately the Scots, Irish and English also lay claim to him, :) but then Wales (or Cymru as we'd prefer it to be called) went all the way up to Scotland in ancient times. I've been reading 'A Magician's Landscape' by Michael Dames, which was fascinating. Not only the lengends, but the geography which they covered in the time of Arthur and Merlin. Many of the places are so familiar to me, including Camarthen, where Merlin is reputed to have been born.
