Profile Information

Are you a writer, reader, or other industry professional
I am a writer of romance and a teacher for those wanting to learn how to write romance.
If a writer, are you published, pre-pubbed, or self-published?
I have been published by Red Rose Press and The Wild Rose Press.
As a writer, what type of stories do you Write or Read?
For reading, I love chick lit and most things written for women. My favorite authors are Ann B. Ross, Mary Kay Andrews, and Anne Rivers Siddons.

For writing, I write about very sexy and interesting ghosts from yesteryear. My heroines are aggressive go-getters.

I'm in the throes of helping to breathe a bit of extra life into WRDF. Can we be friends? If so, please add me.

Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Tipping Point Workshops (TTP WORKSHOP TAB),

The Contest announcement page (CONTEST TAB)

The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)

The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,

Lynda

I keep thinking that I'd like to write a chick-lit, but I haven't found a good group of characters yet to write about. It seems very difficult to write. Has anyone tried to write one with any success? Any pointers?

Have a lovely day from a fellow Mary Kay Andrews fan!

Yes, chicklit is a delight to read. I guess one of the issues is that it is so woman-oriented. Have you tried to write one? I haven't.

It looks like they are not interested in romance or at least their submissions page sort of indicated that.

It would be nice to get an advance. Neither of my publishers offer that.

Tiger is a relatively new company in the publishing world. It is a confluence of folks that are immensely dedicated to finding and publishing good stories, no matter where of what the source. They are also author dedicated and have the best promotion progam in the biz. Check them out at http://www.tigerpublications.com/
Cheers,
