The Timeless West

The memories of another time are often stirred like campfires in the night,
bursting with color that floats off into the darkness only to disappear.

These memories are eternal, and elusive by design, but are often resurrected
from their hideouts through the words of a western writer spinning his tales.

Do You Remember?

Do You Remember?

Do you remember when December meant the coming together of family
and friends to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus and to share in the love
and blessings with which he has provided us?

Do you remember when "The night before Christmas" meant wide eyed
children gathered around a cozy fire intently listening as their parents,
(both of them) reminisced of Christmases past and explained the true
meaning of this most joyous of events?

Do you remember the excitement on those innocen… Continue

Hi, Joseph. Hope you had a Happy New Year!

I see that you like westerns. I'm currently reading The Good Badman by Max Brand and you just might like my latest release, too, The Devil's Crescent. It's about a range war in post-Civil War Texas.

Hi,

I can’t believe it’s November already. Where has this year gone? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage each member to take a little time day to visit a couple new pages each week. The book covers, blurbs, excerpts, bios, photos, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features, The Tipping Point Workshops, our contest announcement page, our bookmark giveaway page, and our free reads page. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,

Lynda

Thank you so much for the friend request, Joseph. (By the way, I love your card, I think the silhouette of the horse and rider is very similar to the logo used by the Western Horsemen's Association over here, where Western horsemanship and Quarter Horses are becoming more and more popular.)

Welcome Joseph,

I'm glad to see you made it here to the Hub of our Community. Make yourself at home. Just a little necessary business to get out of the way, then I encourage you to explore and enjoy the site.

Also, check out our official blog and review site, Between the Lines; our mentoring and motivational blog, Cover2Cover; and our new book club, LOST..In A Good Book. All of these sites can be reached through their quick-link banner on our Main Page or on the right-hand column of your own page.
