Saving Tampa
For as long as she could remember, Rachel Cunningham feared and hated her psychic ability. When a strange man accidentally touches her, she sees the death of thousands. Rachel knows the FBI won’t believe her, but she has to try. Lives are at stake.
Special Agent “Hawk” Arrons dismisses her information as a publicity stunt, yet his conscience nags him. When Rachel identifies an Al Qaida cell leader, Arrons puts his career at risk and issues an alert.
Will the terrorists’ threat succeed, or will Rachel and Hawk be in time to Save Tampa?

Jo--how well I know. I earned $500 for a two-page article in a local magazine. And the article was only a story from my childhood! I'd love to do more of this, certainly, because look at the return. It took about three days to write the piece, no editing--the editor fixed a few sentences--and I'm sent a contract and a check. Can't beat that! Now that you mention this, I need to look into the concept again. Good luck! Celia

Hi, Jo. I sympathize with you and your family. Economic hard times are hitting a lot of people--hate to say this, but I'm old enough that it's not hitting me personally since we're both retired and have everything pretty secure. But our children and their families--okay for now, but parents worry no matter how old or successful their children are. So, I'm proud of your unselfishness to do your part for your family. You wrote SAVING TAMPA, didn't you. I reviewed it for WRDF--remember? I did several books for Lynda, but it became tiring--took too much time. I've learned that some reviewers write the review by reading the first 50 pages and the last chapter--me? I do everything the hard way. I read every word--that's why it takes so long!! And I remember your story--still have it in my downloads--I was as thrilled to give it a Top Read as I think you were to receive it! So, please keep writing, sometime somewhere--just don't completely stop. Celia Yeary

Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free reads page (FREE READS TAB).
Bingo Mania (Main Page)
Editor Chats (WRDF Calendar)
Trendsetter Blogs (Advertising page – sub-menu of Main/Map Tab)

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

Thanks for the invitation to your book signing, Jo! It's a little far for me, since I live in Cleveland. Otherwise, I'd be there to shake your hand and obtain a signed copy of your novel.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Jo, sorry I haven't responded soon - was out of town for a couple of days and since I've been back, been working on edits for my second novel. Last Chance is available on Amazon.com, as well as Barnes & Noble and Borders.

Your book sounds awesome - is it set in Tampa? You'd think the newspapers would jump on the chance to do a write up and interview. I haven't ventured down the route yet. Is it available on Amazon too? I'd love to read it.

Are you a native of the Keys? My first husband was - and we used to go down a lot (in the 60's) - things sure look different now.

Good to hear from you.

Hi Jo, as a native of Tampa for the last 40+ years, I love the cover of your book. Is it a romantic suspense? I work downtown Tampa right under the round "beer can" building. LOL

I'm back among the living and writing.

I feel like I have been drowning the last year. Three members of my family lost their jobs, and one was unemployed for over a year. It was time to help out, and I've been working every chance I got. Now they are all employed, and I can come up for air. I'd like to get my third book done by the end of this year, so I'll have to buckle down and get writing. It is set in the Florida Keys and you'll love all the wacky characters. I also have two articles that I need to place with magazines. One is a… Continue

Memories and Christmas Wishes

We are leaving paradise in the Keys and heading north for the holidays. Christmas is a time to be surrounded by family. John is grumbling about freezing temperatures and blizzards, but he's as sentimental as I am. In the small farming town where I was raised, Christmas was a wonde… Continue
