Travel on a journey of romance into medieval Scotland with The Commander's Desire...

This historical romance takes place in 715 A.D. in Galwyddel, which is modern day southern Scotland. The 6th to 8th centuries were a time when many small Briton kingdoms warred for preeminence in this area. Against this historical backdrop, I've written The Commander's Desire.

Princess Elwytha wants revenge on the monster who murdered her brother. In a false exchange for peace, she offers herself in marriage to the enemy Prince. The plan? Kill the Prince’s battle-scarred Commander—the man who ended King Thor’s life with one filthy sword thrust through the back.

To her horror, the Commander agrees to take Elwytha as his bride. Worse, the wedding date will be sooner than expected. Not all is lost, however. Now she has more opportunity to be alone with him--and exact justice.

But the deed is not so easy now. Fighting her innate sense of honor, she begins to see the ironclad integrity of the man behind the scars. And with this knowledge comes doubt. Did he slay her brother? What exactly is the new king's plan? Whom can she trust?

Elwytha must decide well, for more than her life is at stake. Soon she must betray either allegiance to her kingdom--or the man who is quickly claiming her heart.

Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free Reads page (FREE READS TAB).
Bingo Mania (Main Page)
Editor Chats (WRDF Calendar)
Trendsetter Blogs (Main Page)

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

Dear Jennette,
Greetings! Thanks for writing back. Yes, it is FINALLY cooling down! But as usual, it is going from too hot to too cool. Sounds like you don't live too far away, as some people consider my town in central CA too.

Your book sounds like a truly wonderful book! Sounds like my kind of reading! And like the kind of writing I'd like to do.

I am working on several manusripts at the same time, as time permits, which isn't often enough. I don't want to say too much yet. But I hope that one of them will be the lightning rod for one of the scurges of our times what Uncle Tom's Cabin was for slavery in the US during the 1860s.

Take care, God bless, and have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Paul

Dear Jennette,
It was my pleasure to add you as a friend. I for one feel that we can never have enough good friends in this fragile life and uncertain world. So, where in CA are you from??? How long have you lived here in CA? I've lived here all my life, love it here, and would have trouble imagining living anywhere else.

Congratulations on your upcoming release! I love midieval history! I hope it sells like hotcakes, and becomes a run-away best seller for you. But I'd enjoy getting to know you better, even if itdoesn't. Take care, God bless, and hope to chat with you soon.

Blessiongs,
Paul :-)

Hi jenette

Thank you so much for your kind messages - so sorry I haven't replied before, I was in my homeland of Wales for most of July and have had a few computer problems since. Also my fantasy 'Dancing With Fate' was published on 1st August which was very exciting, but I've been trying to do some promotion for it. As for advance reviews - I've been lucky enough to have some great writer friends who've kindly read my books and given me the advance reviews. It's great that authors are so wonderfully supportive of each other.

Starquest and Commanders Desire will both be out in October, it's so exciting, isn't it!
