Where did 2008 go? I guess when you’re busy time really does fly because mine has certainly taken wing.

WRDF launched in February of 2008 and its membership has grown steadily. I hope that means we are doing something right for our members.

We have some fabulously talented writers among us. I would encourage you to take a little time to visit a couple new pages each week. The photos, videos, blurbs, excerpts, bios, blogs, graphics, and I could go on and on, are super fun and so interesting. No one has an excuse to be bored on this site with so much to read and see.

I hope you’ve kept up with WRDF’S newest features. All are great promotional opportunities for writers and great fun for our readers.

The Bookmark giveaway page (BOOKMARK TAB)
The Free Reads page (FREE READS TAB).
Bingo Mania (Main Page)
Editor Chats (WRDF Calendar)
Trendsetter Blogs (Main Page)

Our book discussion club, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, is going strong. We’ve had good participation and if you haven’t kept up with some of our adventurous discussion comments, you’ve missed the action.

We’ve also launched a new online newsletter, WRDF Online. Be sure to open and read your copy when it comes. You never know what you might be missing.

Lastly, you’ll notice a new WRDFCalendar Tab on your page. What a nice way to keep all our members notified of current and up-coming events. You’ll notice that Fridays are Guest blog days at Between the Lines. Why not take a moment, check the calendar, and reserve a couple of spots for yourself during 2009. You can request your dates at: promo@lyndacoker.com

Thank you for spending time with us. Stay safe and well,
Lynda

I've had a very successful release of the new book, and a lot of people showed up at the book signing in Springfield last weekend. We completely sold out of books, and got a long list of pre orders. I've been too busy to visit here, or anywhere else very much, but for me, that's a good thing. Gotta run, back when time permits.

I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I hope you’re enjoying your experience here at WRDF. We encourage you to take full advantage of all aspects of the community. Please feel free to post your blogs and leave comments for other bloggers as well. Check out WRDF’S official blog, Between the Lines, where you can schedule guest blogging days as well as schedule announcements of your new releases.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter. You can submit material for our newsletter as well. Just send your query to cover2cover@lyndacoker.com . Authors can donate a book for our Boatload Book Giveaway for December. Take advantage of our Spotlight Theater promotional package, and our Front Page banner spots. We think we’ve accomplished a lot in our first six months and we’re just getting started.

We haven’t forgotten our readers. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and blog to increase your chances of splitting a boatload of books in December. Take the opportunity to talk with your favorite authors, ask questions. You can blog and leave personal reviews of books you’ve read either in your blogs or as comments on author’s pages. Get involved, it’s sure to enhance your time with us.

Wow! There is so much going on. But wait, I'm not done yet. We have a brand new feature which will become a huge theater for our authors and a lot of fun for our readers. The new book club, LOST...In a Good Book! Check the link on the main page.

Check the main page often to keep up with the changes happening within our community. We are growing each day, and we want to stay in touch. For those wishing to take advantage of Paid Promo spots, keep a close eye on our Activity feature as that will be where special offers are posted.

Visit our groups section. If you don’t see one you like, start one of your own.

Why not help us grow? Invite some friends.

Thank you so much for spending some of your valuable time with us here at WRDF. We appreciate your membership and participation.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi and also let you know that my "Back to School" sales promotions for authors and publishers are ending soon.

If interested in cover design or book illustration at less than publisher's normally discounted pricing and want to reserve your spot in the short amount of time left in 2008 (and my calendar is filling fast) visit my site or call me:

True, but we don't always do it, and therein lies the problem. I tend to go on the offensive when someone posts something that I see as an attack, and that's pretty much why I don't post a lot anymore.

Welcome Don,

Make yourself at home. And when you get a free moment please read the forum discussion entitled, NEW MEMBERS PLEASE READ, for important content guidelines. The forum tab is located at the top of your page. Just a little necessary business to get out of the way, then I encourage you to explore and enjoy the site.

Also, check out our sister site, Between the Lines. You'll find a quick link located on the main page, left column. Lynda

Thanks Debbie. I don't know how much time I'll have to spend here, but I'll try. I've stopped posting on most of the other message boards that I used to frequent, and as no one seems to have noticed, maybe I'll have more time for this new one.

Goodbye Radio, Hello TV. Goodbye TV, Hello Computer. Goodbye Computer, Hello ?

We didn't get our first TV until 1959. A 17" B&W Zenith table model. I was 18 then, working a 40 hour a week job and playing a lot of ball, so I didn't have much time to watch. I managed to get in a few hours a week, and later on, in the 60's, I watched a bit more. By this time I was in the Air Force, and there was a war going on, and somehow television didn't mean all that much. Don't remember all that much of the 60's any, mostly just some blurs that seemed to go by really fast. Other than… Continue
