I'd love for you all to visit my website. I've done some "remodeling" and there is lots to see there, including links to The Spirit of the Season, not your usual trinket catalog, as well as links to my Rebekah Redeemed book trailer and more. http://…

Hope you'll all take a look at this fun new catalog. Shop in your jamies. Not your ordinary holiday catalog.

I'd love you all to let me know what you think of my book trailer. It's the first one I've done. I'm working on two more.

I always love getting books for Christmas. I've always loved to read.

I encourage gift certificates to Barnes & Noble, Borders, or Amazon for me as well. I also have a lot of books and have gotten duplicates. But the main reason is I'm very particular in what I enjoy reading. I'm not saying my tastes are the best, but…

I have a good friend who is very hard to buy a gift for. She moved from Brooklyn to Seattle and I sent her a book about the foods of NYC by a food critic I like and I feel from her response that was the first gift she really went ga-ga for. :)

I'm a huge James Scott Bell fan. Luv his series' main character Ty Buchanan. Also read a lot of Michael Connelly. Love his Harry Bosch series. And Robert Crais for his Elvis Cole series. Also love Elvis' parnter, the stoic Joe Pike.

Thanks so much for your input, Danielle. That's kind of what I thought as well. For me it's hard doing all that blogging and still trying to find time to write.

Has anyone here participated in blog tours? I'm wondering if they are worth the money and time? All the best... Mary Eason www.maryeason.com

I agree with all of these comments! I especially like characters who seem real, 3-D, and who act true to character. I've read books where I thought, "No one would ever REALLY act that way!" and others where I felt I was reading about someone I could…

Oh, my... too many to count! I just finished reading Roy Maynard's Emerson Dunn mysteries again and love Emerson. Wish Roy would write more of them! Also like the O'Malley characters from Dee Henderson's books. I tend to like characters with some hu…

I LOVE getting books as gifts, but because I have so many, it's hard for anyone to buy books for me. I try to encourage gift certificates, though, to online books stores, especially.

That's very exciting Debbie. Keep us posted. :)

Promotional Challenges

I love to write and have since I had an English teacher in high school who taught us the basics. I have always been one of those people who loved essay tests because I could express myself much more than a short answer fill in the blank format. Most of my friends thought I had a screw loose ... lol. I was a history major in college and then later a post-grad degree in communications. It is all about writing. I would write even if no one read it.

I'm learning a lot about promoting and networking… Continue

Promotion and Writing

When I started writing some years ago, I dreamed of seeing my name on a book that a publisher had seen fit to accept and release. After several years of writing and publishing editorials in a regional newspaper, I moved on to articles here and there online. Meanwhile, working on a book. The first one I shopped around at writers conferences and had a proposal requested from editors. Then, finally, I got a hit! Actually, I got three hits at the same conference. I felt like I had whiplash.
