Profile Information

Are you a writer, reader, or other industry professional
I'm an avid writer of horror with a very overactive immigination. My style tends to be more primal fear situations rather than blood and guts (... but there is some of that, too).
If a writer, are you published, pre-pubbed, or self-published?
My first sci-fi horror novella, Day 94, was released by Eternal Press in Dec of 2009. It was voted Best Sci-Fi/Futuristic Book of 2009 by the Love, Romance (and more) Cafe, and Best Science Fiction Book of 2010 by Siren Book Reviews.
My second publication, Isolated, was released in July of 2010 by Moongypsy Press, with a mystery/suspense theme.
Royal Empress, a paranormal horror novel, is currently under contract with MuseItUp Publishing.
As a writer, what type of stories do you Write or Read?
I like dark and shadowed themes; anything that'll make me wonder what's lurking just around the corner...
How did you come to know about WRDF?

Happy Holidays!

You may not know me or my work but I am the author of six critically acclaimed, award winning novels and I have been nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction. On Jan 9th 2010 my debut novel SUGAR will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary and I hope you will buy a copy or to help commemorate this milestone. And yes, Kindle purchases count!

Praise for the novels of Bernice L. McFadden:

"Searing and expertly imagined." - Toni Morrison

“Bernice L. McFadden is a master storyteller.” Adriana Trigiana

"Vivid." - The New York Times

"Eloquent..." (McFadden) is a talent worth watching." - The Washington Post

During 2010 I will be hosting a reading challenge designed to broaden our literary horizons, move us out of our comfort zone, and help us discover new and uncharted worlds of fun and adventure.

“One change makes way for the next, giving us the opportunity to grow.” Vivian Buchen

Join me, and let’s make 2010 the year we help ourselves and others to celebrate the World of Books.

Challenge Guidelines: This challenge isn’t designed to be easy, so the weak-at-heart may want to exit by the side door. For those of you who are still here, let’s get started.

Welcome D.M.,

You'll certainly find a variety of genres and their authors here at WRDF, along with lots of people who don't care to write, but love to read.

So, make yourself at home. And when you get a free moment, hopefully before you upload too much content, please read the information entitled, NEW MEMBERS PLEASE READ, for important content guidelines. You'll find it listed under the Member's Tab. Just a little necessary business to get out of the way, then I encourage you to explore and enjoy the site.

Also, check out our official blog and review site, Between the Lines, and our book discussion blog, LOST IN A GOOD BOOK, which will begin a new round of book discussion October 20th. The featured book information is now posted. So make your book selection and join us for the October discussions. These two sites can be accessed through their quick-link banner on our Main Page.

For all you blog lovers, we've got some new book blogging groups. Book blogs are wonderfully entertaining and informative. Stop over and start getting acquainted with our Book Blogging members.

Just for fun, we have two more new groups: YOU CAN'T COOK and SO YOU THINK YOU HAVE TALENT. Share a recipe or post a photo of your favorite hobbies, etc.

All members are welcome to post their coming events on the WRDF Calendar. Just click on the Calendar Tab.

Advertising with WRDF is easy. You'll find all the detail on the Advertising page which is a sub-menu of the Main/Map Tab.
