I had a prothesis "glass eye" for about 10 years but my eye socket got too large to hold the eye, so I went to get another one. I was told it would now be $5700 and insurance would not cover it. (cosmetic surgery). Anyway, I couldn't afford it, but Wally World (Wal-Mart) sellls the patches for $1.87! Besides I can be a pirate 365 days a year. The patch has sort of become a trademark for me. Everyone seems to know the guy with a patch. Of course I have fun with it, especially at elections. I go in and vote, then return with my patch over the other eye, but people still recognize me! I may have to get a book or tow of yours though. I love Bret Harte, Zayne Grey, and O Henry to name a few. Lost a lot of books in a fire back in '84, so I don't have many of my old favourites. They were first editions in some cases, got them when I was a kid... *sigh* Oh well, that is life!
