Book Promoting Experiences

I have two books. The first, entitled How To Play Chess Like An Animal, is a nonfiction, and it's kind of easy to promote, because kids love chess, and so holding a chess event does draw families in. We have done som efun family events, dressed in animal costumes, with chess lessons, small tournaments, and simultaneous chess exhibitions in which myslef or my co-author, state champion Brian Wall, plays up to… Continue

Book Promoting

I sometimes get discouraged promoting my book. I have a small independant publisher, and I'm a first time author. I don't have a big budget behind me. My publisher does a few small things, but it's really up to me to sell my book. I love reading from other authors about their promoting experiences. I like hearing the successes and the days of frustration as well, because then I don't feel so alone. Writing can be lonely, and promoting feels like you're calling out in the wilderness to hear only… Continue

Hi Anthea,

Nice to meet you, too. I was reading your blog and I wanted to congratulate you on selling your first novel. I love the cover! I'm also very new at this. My first novel is getting published by Eternal Press in the fall. The other writers say that EP is wonderful in helping promote their authors' books. I'm glad about that since I've never done this before. I am now on Facebook and on Twitter and have (just last week) added a web site: maggiedove.net
I wish you all the best. If your book is as great as the cover...I know you'll have much success. Keep in touch,
Maggie

As a group hostess I want to welcome you to WRDF and invite you to look around and take advantage of everything we have to offer. We're a busy site, so have fun! ....Sandra
