What would you do to survive in the face of disaster? How long would you wait before you starting taking risks; started breaking the rules? What would you do when there was no more food or electricity? How would you protect your children?

I'm more than delighted that Tilly's Tale has just received another wonderful review which appears on both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

Here's what the reviewer had to say:

5.0 out of 5 stars A Charming Story With An Inspiring Message, 3 Dec 2009
By Carole Gill (England) - See all my reviews
I just had the privilege of reading the most heart-warming beautifully written and illustrated book about a rescue dog called Tilly.
Tilly's Tale by Harry Porter is an inspiration. We see from Tilly's point of view what life is really like. Following the death of her much loved owner Sam, Tilly finds her entire world has changed and not for the better--not at first. But then Tilly finds love and caring in the person of Harry Porter and his family.
This is a tale for everyone and especially for those of us, like me, who know just how much love dogs are capable of giving.
I think of it as a canine Oliver Twist because it has the drama, pathos cruelty and deep and abiding love that Dickens wrote about.
When you read this little gem you'll see what I mean. Harry Porter has managed to give voice to Tilly and by doing so he gives all dogs everywhere a chance to ask of us one thing--to be treated with respect. Surely that is only right.
Thank you, Tilly and Harry for the eloquent and moving account of one rescued dog's journey from lost to found and to the love and care Tilly and all dogs deserve.

I'm so pleased that the management at The Mayflower Sanctuary, where we first found Tilly, have given Tilly's Tale a lovely write up in their regular newsletter that goes out to all of their supporters and interested persons. they not only featured the book and the cover, but included pictures of Tilly, Dylan and Charlie who of course all came to us through The Mayflower. It's a lovely, kind gesture by Jennie and the staff at Mayflower and I'm so very grateful to them for the wonderful free publicity that their article has given to Tilly's Tale.

The Mayflower Sanctuary do a wonderful job of re-homing so many unwanted and abandoned dogs and I'm proud to be associated with them.

Hello - my name is D.M. Slate and I'm happy to announce the publication of my fist story, Day 94. This horrifying thriller is published by Eternal Press and is available as an e-book download on December 7, 2009. Please visit my website at to read excerpts and the original ending to the story.
Brief Blurb: When a disease epidemic is unleashed upon Colorado a family of four barricades themselves inside their house as the city is quarantined and the fight for survival begins. Joslin keeps a journal of events that happen as she and her husband, Grant, defend their house trying to protect their two young children from the morphs (carriers of the disease). When starvation sets in Grant leaves the safety of the home to find food; he's attacked and becomes infected, knowing he can't return home. Just when Joslin thinks things can't get worse her morphed husband returns to their home on day 94, determined to get inside. Her love and devotion to her children drives the assault against her husband, Grant.

I'm over the moon today, because my book 'Tilly's Tale' written under my Harry Porter name was released this morning by 4RV Publishing. 'Tilly's Tale' is the first book in my 'Harry Porter's Dog tales' series and sets out to tell Tilly's life story in her own words, beginning with the appalling story of her early life and ending with the love and happiness she has found since being rescued and coming to live with me and my family. She's an incredibly talented dog who has become something of a local celebrity and the book is aimed at children from 9 to 99 years of age, and is intended to help educate and raise awareness of the plight of abused and neglected dogs everywhere. 'Tilly's Tale' is beautifully illustrated by the very talented Mandy Hedrick.
The book can be ordered direct from the publisher at http://4rvpublishingllc.com/ and from Amazon.com and other sources too. You can read more about Tilly on her own blog at http://tillyrescuedog.blogspot.com/ or by visiting my website at http://harry-porter.webs.com/
Here's a short blurb:
Rescued when life looked bleak and her future uncertain, Tilly found love and a new purpose in her life. Read Tilly's story in her own "words," share the highs and the lows of her struggle to be loved and wanted, and be prepared to fall in love with this very special terrier.

My new book is out. THE THORN AT HIS SIDE. Available at Hearts On Fire site http://www.heartsonfirebooks.com/ under new releases. The e-book is fun to read and romantic with an old Florida flavor. Pick it up for a good read.
Blurp: Sexy, rugged James Blackthorn has a wish, but his wish-granting genie happens to be a manipulative Frenchman, Etienne Dubois, who has his own agenda. The hero, James, the elder of two brothers, embraces the independent spirit of the early Florida settlers and has a deep love for his land. His brother Colin, however, is a scalawag and a ladies' man, and a threat to Etienne Dubois' tranquility, who fears his daughter Cecile is in love with Colin.

After a five year exile in Paris, Cecile Dubois, a spunky and beautiful young girl returns to Key West determined to marry James, whom she secretly adores. But Etienne, her father, has other plans in mind. Mistakenly believing that Cecile wants to marry the unsuitable Colin, Dubois makes a pact with James to send Colin away in exchange for more land. What Etienne doesn't know is that by keeping the wolf away he has opened the door to the lion. James can't help his attraction to Cecile, which he fights at every turn. But what will happen when Cecile finds out she has been bartered for a piece of land?
