Monday- April 7 "Brainstorming Another Promo"

Once a year--I have a Tradition. It's fun & Inexpensive & Another
Promo. A few months prior to a Planned book signing/Sale party
at my home. I Trade Bookmarks with Many of my writing friends.
When I have my Booksigning--I display Their Bookmarks, along
with mine on a seperate table. If any of my guests are Interested,
they will ask for that Bookmark & that's a Promo for another Author's
book. Some of my friends I did contact after one of my parties to
tell them one of my guests was Interested & took their bookmark.
remember--It only takes 1 person to tell a friend--then another
friend--and the result another Promo. Can't hurt--is Inexpensive
& why Not give it a try? Also--this Ole tradition of mine--going on
10 years is alot of Fun too!

Hi Susan,
Thank you for joining & commenting. Congrats on your
New Releases! I sure can relate. I always have 50 Million projects
going on at once & feel as if I need to Stop the Clocks. Yes! It
can be Overwhelming at times. For me--when it gets out of control--
I will actually take one full day & go on a mental vacation--it helps!
One-day-at-a-time is my Motto. A Pleasure to meet u. Happy Sunday!

Hi, I'm Susan. Thanks for inviting me to join. I have a short story coming out with The Wild Rose Press in less than two weeks. After having nothing new out in years, I'm stepping up my promo efforts. I also have a full-length time travel coming out with Wild Rose. I don't know when that will be out yet, but I've already started advance promo for that. My main problem is finding the time to keep up with the edits for the contracted book and keep working on new projects as well as the promo. At times the amount of work and time commitment seems overwhelming.

Hi Debra,
Thank you for joining & commenting! I Totally agree with
you. For as long as I can remember, i always found Bookmarks
inside of many books in the Library. It's such a Good Promo for
us & a Social contact for the Library also. I feel very comfortable
at the Library & it's always good to make New friends.

Great ideas here! Since I write Arthurian fiction, I've gone to libraries and placed my own bookmarks in similar novels--any I could find. We've all found bookmarks in library books, right? As a reader I liked that perk!

Please remember how many people walk in and out of a dentist
office each day? If your book is there--it draws attention to
people who never saw it before--And this is Great for Kids &
Adults!

Doctors Offices & Dentists! What do we see every time we walk in--
Stacks of books & magazines to calm our nerves. My Dentist has
my children's book in their Kiddie section on display!
I was even brave enough to leave a few books at the
office of my GYN. One time--while waiting for my appointment--
a child was in the kiddie section reading my book--my GYN was
laughing--b/c she knew it was mine--her children have my books!

Small/business bookstores in your town or city...

I have visited several small privately owned bookstores in my city
who buy& sell books! A few times a year--I purchase used Copies
of my books from Amazon for example--then sell them to Small book
stores who Buy & sell books. I don't do this for a profit--but rather
Publicity & Promos for my books. I always Include in my books--where
they can be purchased!

Here is something else I faithfully do--especially in the Spring!
I always visit my Local libraries! Many times--I donate my Bookmarks
to the Library to give out--along with there bulletins of events for
each month! they have put my Bookmarks in their children's
section & told me the children love going home with a cheerful
Bookmark! Also, I always donate a few of my books so the library
can display them with their book sales. While I'm there--I always
check to see if I could sign up for a book/signing event. By doing
these things--I met many friends & before U know it--they want to
see your books!
