After much discussion and toward figuring things out I have decided to send out my first copy of Publisher's Corner this fall. This is a magazine designed to showcase the 'back of the house' end of things. It will feature publishers, editors, graphic designers, and promotional companies, with information on trends, submission calls, what to do and not to do when submitting, how to avoid pissing off an editor lol, and even some information about promoting your brand and more.
Starting June first I will be accepting submissions for articles and advertisements - yes there is an ad section. I'll be doing up a classified type section that will feature submission calls, editors offering their services, graphic designers selling their wares and even authors who are looking for editors or graphic designers. As well I will be accepting and featuring authors who do self-publishing.
My aim is to get out the best information to my readers that I can. I want to do this to ensure that authors as well as back-of-the-house newbies get an honest representation of the industry. I'm currently looking to send proposals out to such places as Kensington, Avon, Mills and Boon, etc. If you have a suggested publisher or know of someone who may be interested please feel free to pass along this information. I'll be posting the guidelines for submission in the next day or so - and will be posting them on my blogs as well as loops, emailing them to author's publishers and more.
My intent is to make this a quarterly periodical to start, with special editions being released when there's something big happen such as a new line being announced, or something happens with say ebook piracy. For more details or to offer a suggestion please send me an email to publisherscornerezine@gmail.com I hope to have the blog up and running within the next month as well.
Thanks everyone, and I hope you'll all join me for the launch of this ezine!
