What's your goal on how many books a year you'd like to have published? Mine is just one and I'm happy.

One is sufficient for me also.

So many stories - so little time. It isn't just a publishing goal for me, its rather the telling of the story and sharing it. I've so many ideas and plots. New ones come to me daily. As for publishing - well I have at least three other "hobies" and writing isn't a hobby - but the hobbies I do have and enjoy have for the last six years been on a HOLD mode because I've become so driven to write. I almost feel like I'm on a time limit schedule. Possibly this is because I started to write TO publish so late in life. I've written since I was a kid but until I bought a computer writing was a personal thing. Without spell check I'd be lost, and without e-books - well we all know what getting into N.Y. is like. Never Never Land. Oh sure we all hope it will happen and take the steps to get there. But there are so many of us and so few slots open - Maybe one day?
So it isn't how many published, I want to just get the stories told

Yeah, if I only give myself one book a year goal I can take my time and not feel I'm forced to write.

OMG Sheila, your story sounds just like mine! I didn't get my first book pubished until I was 50 but I've been writing all my life. Computers is what helped me. Thank goodness they were invented!

Oh how |I agree about computers - though I cuss mine frequently. My first novel (which I intend to resurect one day) was typed on one of those old fashioned things called a typewriter (and a manual one at that) and retyped three times. Now I intend to scan it into my pc and do all my editing the easy way. As for how many books I'd like to have published this year, I have one in production, but I have another one contracted but not yet written. I hope to have that completed by June at the latest and the I want to start on another one. Realistically though, if I can aim for one a year and succeed in that, I'll be happy.

Hywela,

I started out on a manual, too. Gee, every time you added anything you had to retype the whole darn manuscript! I have some manuscripts so old you can hardly read the print and the pages are yellow. Some day I'd like to do something with them.

Last year, I had five full lengths because i write under two names, and they all came out at once. Poor timing. I hope that never happens again.

I'm writing more novellas now and will still have at least five come out this year with one full length. Now you know why I'm tired all the time.

Best, Keta Diablo
