Hey all, I know it's a few months away but anyone here ever attend one? I'm going in 2009 because it's down the street from me. Can you share what I can expect and the must dos of the week? I'm sure there's others who would be interested:)

Debbie,

I can't share anything about it and I would love to go. I'm hoping to be in Florida late next year. My wonderful friend Tom lives in Holiday Florida. I'm gong to see him. Good luck in April. Sell a million copies and make sure you give me the credit for the good wishes I gave you that made it happen. LOL

I have never been to RT, I went to RWA for the first time last year in Dallas, I will be going to RWA again next year in Washington D.C. Just pace your self. There is always so much to do and you can get bogged down in the whole of it. Have Fun!

Hi Debbie,
I've been to several RT conventions. They are a lot of fun, exhausting and exciting. Be prepared to meet mostly readers--business cards, bookmarks, a basket for the drawing (save the entries for a email list).
I'll have to check when this one is held. I'd love to go.

Thank you for you well wishes and great advice, ladies! I've signed up for a couple work shops a day so that shouldn't be too hard to handle. I'm not a party girl so the evening events don't hold much interest for me. Of course I'm looking forward to the Mr. Romance competition:)

Hey, Debbie,

I can tell you it will be in Orlando, FL in 2009, on April 22nd. I have yet to attend one, but have a friend who goes yearly. It lasts the duration of a weekend, I think, and they have several events to attend, plus chances to meet agents, publishers, other authors, etc.

It sounds like a lot of fun and I hope to be able to attend myself this coming year.

Hey Darlene, thanks for the info. You have a friend who attends every year? Wow!

If you write Christian historicals set in 1800s, there's a Yahoo marketing group for you http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CROWNfictionmarketing/ Unfortunately, I don't write that period. The idea of such a group is a good one.
